Day of the Americas: dances and costumes from across the continent
Student groups represented different countries with traditional costumes, flags and dances. The Costa Rica group won.
Every 14 April, schools in Honduras celebrate the Day of the Americas. At Coral Springs, each student group represented a country of the continent with traditional costumes, flags and a dance.
The celebration took place in the school yard, under a tent decorated with flags. The group representing Costa Rica won the competition with its performance.
It is one of the favourite celebrations of the Honduran school calendar, and a way for the children to learn about the culture of neighbouring countries.
