Walk Beside Me for Knowledge (Fundación Camina Junto a Mí por Conocimiento) is a Honduran nonprofit organization. Our schools have been open since 2005, born from a simple conviction: in Honduras, public schools are often overcrowded and under-resourced, while most private bilingual schools are expensive and offer no financial aid.
That is why we offer immersive bilingual education with small classes, low tuition and scholarships for 30% of our students. English-speaking volunteer teachers work alongside dedicated Honduran teachers and administrators.
Our graduates leave with strong English skills, which open the door to higher education and better-paying jobs in Honduras.
How we grew from one school in San Pedro Sula to three bilingual schools in the Sula Valley, with volunteers from all over the world.

Coral Springs Bilingual School opens in Villanueva, Cortés, where many families work in garment factories or sugarcane fields.
Walk Beside Me for Knowledge receives its legal status from the Honduran Ministry of the Interior.

Donors from several countries support scholarships for Villanueva students through GlobalGiving. Several families receive their scholarship letter for the 2016 school year.
The year ends with preschool and 9th grade graduations, science fairs and a move to a bigger building.

The “Find your inner teacher” call invites volunteer teachers to Coral International in Villanueva for the February-to-November 2018 school year, with short and long positions.
Coral International opens in El Progreso, with preschool and primary. In Villanueva, the school now teaches over 700 students from pre-K to 11th grade.

Formerly known as Coral Springs Bilingual School. It is the first bilingual school in the Villanueva area to welcome qualified teachers from the United States every year. Most families work in factories or sugar-cane fields, and many students study on scholarship.
