Join WBK in Villanueva, El Progreso or San Pedro Sula and teach children English through play, conversation and everyday practice. You can come for a week, a few months or a full school year.
Our volunteers speak only English with the children, in and out of the classroom: in class, at recess and in every activity. That’s how the language becomes part of their everyday life. That’s why we look for native or fluent English speakers, wherever they come from.
Either way, you teach English to our children. The difference is how long you stay.
You teach English alongside our teachers: conversation, reading, songs and games, always in English. Ideal for your holidays, a semester off or a university internship.
You lead English and other subjects taught in English, and become a steady role model for the children all year long.
You’ll teach in English: no Spanish needed.
You teach Monday to Friday; the rest of the time, Honduras is waiting for you. The Caribbean, Maya ruins, waterfalls and cloud forests are a few hours from your school.

No. You will teach in English. We don’t offer Spanish classes, but you will learn a lot from the children and your colleagues: a desire to learn will make your year in Honduras even richer.
There are two options. On a short stay, from 1 week to 5 months, you teach English alongside our teachers; it can also be a university internship. Long-term volunteers stay for a full school year (9½ months), which gives students stability.
Yes. We welcome volunteers from 1 week to 5 months to teach English alongside our teachers, through conversation, reading, songs and games. Housing and a stipend are included; you pay for your flight, and it is not reimbursed.
We don’t charge a program fee. We provide free shared housing, a stipend of US$630 a month (US$315 in cash on the 15th and the 30th), all teaching materials and airport transfers. You cover your flight, your meals (that is what the stipend is for) and an international health insurance plan, active from the day you leave your country. Only school-year volunteers are reimbursed up to US$550 of their airfare at the end of the contract; on short stays, airfare is not reimbursed.
A bachelor’s or associate degree, being at least halfway through a university degree or, if you are 19 or older, a high-school diploma. Also: native or fluent English, a clean background check and, above all, passion, flexibility and love for children.
In a shared house or apartment with other volunteers, close to the school, with internet and basic utilities.
Honduras has real safety challenges and we take them seriously. You receive an orientation on arrival, clear safety guidelines and ongoing support from our local team.
