2025 in review: a new school in El Progreso and over 700 students in Villanueva
In 2025 our third school opened in El Progreso, and Coral International in Villanueva now teaches over 700 students.
2025 was a year of growth. In February, at the start of the school year, Coral International School Progreso opened in Colonia Bendeck, El Progreso, Yoro. It is our third bilingual school and offers preschool and primary education.
In Villanueva, Coral International started as a kindergarten with a dozen children. Today it is a full bilingual school with over 700 students, from pre-K to 11th grade. Thanks to donations, tuition stays very low and many students study with a scholarship.
Together with Smart Kids in San Pedro Sula, there are now three schools sharing the same mission: quality bilingual education for low-income families.
We opened our call for English-speaking volunteer teachers for the 2026 school year. Learn about the program.
