Why go

The San Fernando de Omoa Fortress is one of the largest colonial fortresses in Central America. It was built in the 18th century to protect the coast from pirates and is now a museum by the sea.

Don’t miss

  • A walk along the fortress walls and cannons.
  • Omoa beach, with seafood restaurants by the sea.
  • Puerto Cortés, Honduras’ main port, on the way.
